Every close relationship seems to be a learning experience, therefore not wasted. Falling in love can be a wonderful thing and for me, becomes memories of good times and warm feelings to be held closely. And yet it is about two people who find the promise of perfect personal happiness, and understand, with sadness and acceptance, that the most important things in life are not always about making yourself happy. -zita-
It is hard forget! If you find the most purest, most perfect love would you forget it? It’s easy to say but hard to do. Obviously I know one thing. Love matters most in life. If there is no love in life then what are you? We can try getting busy, so much that we are exhausted. You can move on, but you can never forget them. It’s close to impossible.

If I Had My Life To Live Over
I would have talked less
and listened more.
I would have invited friends over to
dinner even if the carpet was
stained and the sofa faded.
I would have eaten the popcorn in
the “GOOD” living room and
worried much less about the dirt
when someone wanted to light
a fire in the fireplace.
I would have taken the time to
listen to my grandfather ramble
about his youth.
I would never have insisted the car
windows be rolled up on a summer
day because my hair had just
been teased and sprayed.
I would have burned the pink candle
sculpted like a rose before it
melted in storage.
I would have sat on the lawn
with my children and not
worried about grass stains.
I would have cried and laughed less
while watching television and
more while watching life.
I would have gone to bed when I was
sick instead of pretending the earth
would go into a holding pattern if
I weren’t there for the day.
I would never have bought anything
just because it was practical,
wouldn’t show soil, or was
guaranteed to last a lifetime.
Instead of wishing away nine
months of pregnancy, I’d have
cherished every moment realizing
that the wonderment growing inside
me was the only chance in life to
assist God in a miracle.
When my kids kissed me impetuously,
I would never have said,
“Later. Now go get washed up for dinner.”
There would have been more “I love
yous” … more “I’m sorrys”
….but mostly, given another shot
at life, I would seize every
minute…. look at it and really see
it… live it… and never give it back.
First, to my relatives – A get well soon wish to my sister who had her Colon Cancer surgery last Wednesday. I am glad to know it went well Imee, I don’t know why God gave my family this terrible disease. Today, my co-worker organize a team for the UC Davis SH Relay for Life – a fundraising for American Cancer Society and I am joining them on April 10-11, 2010. To those who are interested please let us know. For information on the UC Davis event, go here. There’s also a Davis Wiki article here that says:
“Relay For Life is a fun and unique 24-hour event to increase cancer awareness at UC Davis while raising much-needed funds for the American Cancer Society’s programs and services. Teams composed of 8 – 15 people formed by local businesses, sororities, fraternities, dorms, friends, family and faculty raise funds prior to the event. At the Relay, team members take turns walking or running around the track at Aggie Stadium, relay-style and enjoy fun activities and entertainment off the track. The Relay For Life of UC Davis is currently the top college relay in California, and has raised over $500,000 for the American Cancer Society over the past four years. The Relay For Life of UC Davis is put on by the Colleges Against Cancer chapter at UC Davis.”

Well, a big monday at work but I like waking up, put your suit on -drop your kid to school and hoping to remember picking her up after Japanese class at the High School. Yeah! I almost forget again today, I just need to drop everything whether meeting or projects to pick her up or she will be sad or upset! Life of a working Mom…………………..
Tonight, Jon and I attended the Year 2013 Parent information night at the Senior High School. It was verrrry interesting though to meet some parents from the other two Junior High School where you use to hang out with your kids at playgroup and preschool years. One mom talked about Alicia as a waterpolo star who happened to be in the newspaper Davis Enterprise last year when AJD was chosen as the All Tournament Team goalie at the SAN DIEGO COUNTY CUP May 2009. When our kid do something great, we became a proud parent. Time flew so fast!! While I am busy at work and volunteeting the community, I am glad Dad is sitting down with AJD for homework and school projects. I can never go back to school and learn again Geometry, trigonometry or biology……they are so hard!!!
AJD STAMPERS CLUB – Michael Dodd from Australia left me a mesage at Facebook that he is working in Manila for two weeks. So our Round Robin might be delayed if not I should be doing the next rounds since almost all of the packets completed the cycle. So nobody takes on writing a Stamp Article. I think I will redo the contest.
I was busy doing a scrapbook project for a special friend these past two weekends in connection with the current released of the Distingushed Sailor stamps that I thought it represent how our friends, family and love ones at the military made sacrifices and fought to protect our country. It is nice to work on something that brings back some good memories. Someday, he should be on stamps! Since I ended up pulling my stamps, I found another US album that I inhereted from Clyde Froehlich son and his Mom’s collections. I was just carried away and was working on this new US album. I’ve never been working on my stamp album for years….it was so weird that I was sitting on it for hours this weekend!
Anyway, Clyde was one of our Manager that helped me proofread when I wrote the pages of my original AJD Connection website in 2001. When I told him I have a youth stamp club, he looked at me and said, you are the one Zita! One day, I will show you my closet of stamps from my Mom! I inhereted all the albums and stamps from his mother and son’s collections, and yet he continued to send me stamps that he received from his relatives from Australia, Germany and Great Britain. Okay, Clyde – what was your reaction when AJD Connection got an award from UC Davis? You can only say “You made me famous”. Today, he told me that his son is coming from Ecuador and he asked him to bring stamps for me YIIPPEE. Thank you Clyde for taking care of me!
And by the way, I made few pages and posts some stamps for the “Stamp Collecting for a Very Young Children” blog at http://ajdconnection.com/stamps . This might take awhile, at least I started something.
It is getting late and I am so tired today. I will write again soon.
I started the re-development of my Stamp Collecting for a Very Young Children’s website and showing some stamps from my collections. This may take awhile but I am using the BLOG form so it would be easy for me to update anywhere I can get hold of computer rather than dependent to my dreamweaver software at home.
I am a workaholic person and I like to be busy so I have so much in my plate.
First, thank you once again to Michael Dodd at cddstamps Australia for hosting the four rounds of Round Robins. I know I promised to do the same but just never gotten to it. The club is a little bit busier now, not as busy as the first five years that I started the club. We used to have so many youth groups that were actively involved on stamp collecting, trading and program participation. But very surprising that when I left to take care of myself, it seems the club died. Everyone just vanished and left! I felt very sad that maybe it seems everyone felt that I abandoned the group. So now I am resurrected but everyone enjoying Facebook! I don’t seem to like Facebook that much – I don’t have time to play Mafia Wars and Farmville and I am getting all this invitations to different virtual toys.
Anyway, last week there was an exchange of messages going through the message board about so many emails coming to your inbox from the club. Few people reacted but I waited since I need time to write and made few suggestions. Club should be busy and we need to be more interactive! But there are remedy if you are the person that doesn’t want to be bombarded with emails.
Yahoo Group has the options to email delivery. You can choose
Individual Emails – every single post of messages is going to your email inbox. I encourage this option so you can read all the messages from the club. You can simply delete if the message is something that you are not interested.
Daily Digest – collation of all the messages posted each day. This is the second option that you can choose since you would only be getting one email for the day.
Special Notices – Message send by the founder as Special Notice. Since some of our members opted to Special Notices, sometimes I felt using this option to get my message accross.
No emails – you don’t get any messages and you can visit the club message board to read the messages. I discourage this option since you will end up not be able to participate.
Although, everyone should know that messages for new members are moderated. I have to review them before it get posted to make sure that it is related to stamps and stamp collecting. I delete some SPAMS and deleted those members as well.
Have fun with stamp collecting and take care of your trades and round robins!
You need to write an article about stamps or stamp collecting at least 5000 words or more. Anything that is interesting or persuasive enough for me to give you this grant. I have other people who will be looking at your article(s) and will help me by giving each one of you some points from 1-5. It will be based on contents, concise and articulation. The highest points will win.
While I was doing so many community service project as a Girl Scout Troop leader and volunteering in my community for the last 20 years. MY NEW VISION IS: I would like to be able to go back to my roots as a philanthropist!
Time flew so fast! My daughter and my youth group are older now, I think my time is come to be able to do more on philathropy to provide relief of the poor and distressed or of the underprivileged in the Philippines where poverty are worsened since I was there. It is very disheartening to see malnourish and sick children in this part of the world.
During summer of 2009, I organized a family reunion in honor of my mother’s 80th birthday. While my sister, Mom and I were preparing for our trip to Cebu a bad news broke out that my sister was diagnosed with breast cancer and a mastectomy needed to be done. We had second thought of travelling, I thought instead we can use the money for my sister’s medical bills. But being not able to go back home for the last ten years, I thought it would be the time to go and visit our relatives. And my daughter AJD would also be able to see her cousins that she was only able to met at the age of five when my Dad passed away in 2000. So we were able to finalize our plans with a small scale reunion party in honor of my Mom’s 80th birthday and be able to see my sister during her initial chemotherapy treatment. Thanks to being a Hilton Honor member and a new Hilton Hotel in Mactan Cebu, having an accomodation at the beachfront was a lot of fun for everyone!
AJD with cousins Shelly, Lalyn and G-lynn at Hilton Hotel
Part of my trip was to bring AJD to see her heritage. Although my plan was to show AJD my birth town in Inabanga she requested to visit the hometown Alicia, Bohol where her name was being taken. For two days we were touring all around Bohol province and we stop by the Municipal Hall for a courtesy call to met the Mayor of Alicia. She likes Bohol better than a very crowded Cebu. But poverty are everywhere, it broke my heart!
This picture below was taken during our road trip when we stop to rest. I was surprised as AJD made friends to the children and gave them her goodies. Coming back to California, she wanted to send her clothes and toys to the children. It reminds me when she was little that she wanted to sell lemonade so she can gave the money to the poor! I think her generosity comes from my genes.
BOHOL BEACH CLUB used to be part of the plaza chain of hotel where I was the Cebu Plaza Credit and Collection Supervisor – still owned by my friend the Fonacier.
AJD and cousin Marco at Marco Polo Hotel (used to be Cebu Plaza Hotel where I work)
My nephew Marco had a hearing problem when he was a baby and my brother and his wife (both are dentist in the Philippines) decided to have him underwent a cochlear implant that cost $40,000.00.
Marco and Dad (Dr. Emmanuel Mercado) at his surgery in Manila
It was very stressful, instead he ended up selling his house to pay his medical bills. If I had that kind of money, I will pay everything. I can only give what I have. I felt sorry for my brother but our kids should be our priority. The same that my daughter AJD was and always will be my priority.
What happen to the children in this developing countries without the means and resources to health care? This is a question that everyone is facing even here in United States. Now Marco will be an inspiration when my brother became a humanitarian and starts a foundation for cancer and hearing awareness.
We stayed at this hotel used to be Cebu Plaza Hotel where I worked 25 years ago.
I am still very busy but when I won’t be busy. Today I spent hours talking to a representative from the IRS about my options between AJD Connection, a foundation and a public charitable organization. Options to apply for a grant, fundraising and finding a public benefactor. What are the things that need to be done? It was very overwhelming!
But we need to step up one day at a time! And by making a difference we can change the life of others forever! I hope my friends, my colleages and my business partners will hold my hand on this very long journey. Because if I will succeed, everyone will! THANKS.
Hello everyone! You might wonder what is new at AJD Connection, it seems I am become quiet all of the sudden. I am a very busy person and if you can’t hear from me that is very understandable. We are also getting busier at work these days for budgets! I’d like taking my meds to put me to sleep, it is so nice get some peace sometimes!
Have you noticed so many young girls selling girl scout cookies around town? I just posted the email I received from the council to pass on the word and support the girls in action. I still remember those days my daughter worked so hard selling Girl Scout cookies door to door. My girls are older now, AJD is buying from little girls and every site she saw. That Caramel Delight (Samoas) cookies is so good – our favorites! So please support Girl Scouts by buying boxes of GIRL SCOUT COOKIES!
I have new line of Fine Jewelries to be added to my store at eBay and AJD Connection. I just need to find some time to upload some listings. They are beautiful – so I hope some buyers would love it! Below are few samples. Please do visit my website at http://ajdconnection.com online store where you can find some coin WATCHES and Solidgold coin PENDANTS. You can also find some new gemstone jewelries listed at eBay store http://stores.ebay.com/AJD-Connection?_rdc=1 . I still have so many to be added so please visit my site as often as you can.
The other day, my colleague at work whose son is also at the Waterpolo club saw me at the parking lot, rolled her car window and said “I didn’t see you at the Waterpolo Club board meeting but you didn’t miss anything”. I am trying to keep away from volunteering any vacant position at this time. The VP at EJHS Band Booster finally step down, looking forward to the meeting on March to include on the agenda the next year’s Board of Directors re-election. I am hoping another parent would be interested on my position since I am reading the PTA treasurer is also leaving this year. I am considering joining the Blue and White Foundation when my daughter goes to Senior High School.
On the works is my plan to organize a family owned Non-profit organization back home to focus on Philanthrophic and awareness to Fight Againts Cancer. I have four members of my family that have cancer, my sister just had her breast cancer treatment last year when we visited her last summer. My other sister that had her treatment years ago recently found a tumor coming back. So this is not a good news! Some thoughts and prayers would be a great help. Thanks.
AJD Stampers Club:
Thank you to Michael Dodd at Australia for taking over the Stamp Round Robin. It seems it went along just fine! It really makes the club so busy now since I came back. Please know that I am reading all the messages at the club, and if you are a new member please refrain from spamming since your posts are moderated. It is only a waste of my time and your time to delete your posts.
Robert Stambouli at Cyprus was looking for the list of the Birthday Club. If I don’t get enough participants, we’ll just postpone this until I can regroup the members at Facebook.
