AJD Angels of Hope Foundation

My daughter AJD had an appointment so I modeled for the LBC shipment on behalf of the co-founder of AJD Angels of Hope Foundation!!!

Hello!  Last Saturday September 4, 2010 was the scheduled pick up of our Balikbayan boxes as a cargo shipment to the Philippines sponsored by LBC Foundation.  I have to thank the generosity of LBC Express to ship these boxes to our final destination in the Philippines.

I was very tired packing and boxing but as you can see on the pictures below that I was very happy!!!!   I don’t mind advertising my shipping donor LBC – Hari ng Padala as a cargo shipper to the Philippines hoping that they will continue with my partnership as a sponsor to my charitable causes of AJD Angels of Hope Foundation care packages to children in the Philippines!!!

Yipppeeeee!!! I can finally send these boxes to the poor and needy children!!!!!!

I need to thank LBC Foundation our cargo shipper for supporting us with our causes at AJD Angels of Hope Foundation. Especially to Mr. James Taylor, the new manager who took over after Jacqui left the company. Thank you James for finally getting back to me yesterday, I have been worried for weeks knowing I have boxes ready to go out but doesn’t know when your gift certificates will come. Your reassuring words that we don’t have any problem shipping these boxes as we were approved to do so is so consoling before I leave for my trip to NY/NJ. I am very happy!!!! Looking forward to receive the Gift Certificates when I come back!

As we talked about our charitable work, I am glad to know that James and LBC Foundation are behind us for the coming months and years ahead!

I have never been writing on this site for awhile.  As you know that some updates of all my sites are written at my main blog at AJDConnection.com http://ajdconnection.com .  I had some interruption lately with this project mainly because of some personal stuff like travels, my job, socializing and just life in general.  I should say FB took some of my time - just kidding!  But it is true, I have never realized I would be meeting in FB so many of my friends from high school and elementary.  Anyway…thank you FB!!!

Last week, I finally received my approval to incorporate AJD Angels of Hope Foundation as a non-profit charitable organization from the Secretary of State in California.    I am so happy about this!

Then, our “Stuff for Kids” donation drive continues!  I know I am trying so hard to put a name to my charity but it is okay.  I am sure this will be the most rewarding job I have ever been done for my country.  We were doing so many community service already for many years as a Girl Scout leader to my daughter AJD’s troop.  As the founder for AJD Angels of Hope Foundation, what we are doing is not something that is new to us.  We’ve been helping out donating stuff to the Homeless Shelter, canned goods drive for the STEAC program,  sending donation to Hurricane Katrina victims and even giving gifts and musical performance to our local Senior Retirement Community.  

Now, I am so busy some Saturday mornings making apperance at the Davis Farmers Market to promote my charity to bring our existence to our community.   As we continue our Stuff for Kids donation drive, we are happy that we have few members of our community that are generous to give.  I am getting some baby and childrens clothing, books, toys and I am buying some children stuff on sale at any store.  These would really help some children in the Philippines.

I am getting busy packing and boxing as we partnered with LBC Foundation and they will be repsonsible for shipping our donation to our Cebu Chapter.

As you already knew that our charity AJD Angels of Hope are collecting baby and children’s clothing, toys, books and etc for homeless kids locally and to be send to the Philippines.

Thank you to few family that already donated baby and kids clothing & toys.  They are so cute as I go through them.  It reminded me when AJD was a baby.  They grow so fast!  I know that kids stuff accumulated so fast.  Can you imagine if you keep everything what your kids own?  Every year I have donation to charity.  AJD still have few baby items that I kept for souvenir :0) . I will give the box to her when she is ready.

Fundraising for AJD Angels of Hope Foundation. Lunch and Dinner Dining in only scheduled everyday.   Buffet and take-out are not included.  A card will be created yet so you can print it out and take it with you to the restaurant.  You can also get the same card that benefit AJD Angels of Hope Foundation at the restaurant.

I really need everyone to support me on this journey! It was nice to meet with Mayor Ruth Asmundson this morning about AJD Angels of Hope Foundation. She was one of  the three Filipino ladies that I first meet in town.  A UCD Scholar, she became the Mayor of Davis for two terms and will retire after her term ends this year at the age of 65.    Very nice lady!

My best interest right now is to lead the girls (AJD Angels) behind this new foundation since this is already organized with the IRS and State as a non-profit organization.  I feel like we are still doing our Girl Scouting! We will start with the “STUFF FOR KIDS” donation drive next month when the teens get their schedule together.  So if you have some stuff for the kids used or new clothing, books, school supplies, baby items or monetary donations  please contact us.  We collected few bags already from the neigborhood.   And we already partnered with LBC Foundation who will takes care of the five boxes cargo shipment this year scheduled on September. I am sure I will end up paying for shipping more boxes.  Right now, AJD and her friends are getting ready making their costume and practicing their performance with the Cosplay/Masquerade Competition for FANIME 2010 in San Jose, CA on May 30th.  After that, we can get together and make plans for the foundation. 

Last year my family in the Philippines were joking around about me running for public office at my hometown.  So my sisters are calling me now Councilwoman..,WHY?  I wonder if I really sounded like a politician!!!
